First let us look at a typical acid forming breakfast, then we will look at some better options.

The average person starts the day with coffee, soda or some other acidic beverage.

Then add to that a bagel, muffin doughnut, cereal, or some other product containing refined white flour and sugar.

A recipe for ph balance disaster.

Even if someone is eating - whole grains, which are a healthier alternative, you are still on the acid side of the chart. Just not quite as bad a the refined version of grains. On top of that many of these "foods" contain refined oil.

 

Here is a better alkaline breakfast:

  • Green or white tea is much better than coffee, you still get some caffeine, just not quite as much.
  • I like to have a vegetable blander smoothie for a great alkaline start to the day. Watch the video to learn how to make one.
  • A nice vegetable salad is also a possibility in place of the smoothie.
  • A tablespoon of fish oil provides healthy fat.
  • I like to add whey protein to my smoothie, or have a small piece of clean meat. Organic if possible, or at least free of hormones and antibiotics.
