<p>There are many reasons people can&#8217;t sleep.</p>
<p>So is melatonin really good for and does it help you sleep? According to Josh Rubin in this video, melatonin may not be good for people to take at all. What he has to say may surprise you.</p>
<p>Check out the video to hear his take and then do your own research.</p>
<p>I sometimes personally experience insomnia. Most of the time it&#8217;s a blood sugar issue. I just get hungry in the middle of the night. If I get up and eat a protein/fat snack, like almonds or trail mix, often I will get back sleep quick.</p>
<p>I like to have a cup of relaxing herbal tea at night, just before bed. Chamomile tea is one of my favorites. Valerian root is good too, but not everybody likes the smell or taste, so many people opt for <a href="http://mynsp.com/askherb/products/guide.aspx?stocknum=721">Valerian in pill form.</a></p>

<p>This little routine will help get you centered and focused for the day. If you use an alarm clock to wake up and like to hit the snooze bar, you can roll over and do a few stretches.</p>
<p>I don&#8217;t use an alarm clock anymore, so I just wake up when I am done sleeping. The Beauty of working for yourself.</p>
<p>This whole deal only takes about 2 minutes and gives a much better launch to your day.</p>
<h4>Quick Morning Yoga Rundown</h4>

<li>Start out lying on your back</li>
<li>Stretch out through your arms and legs</li>
<li>Then do a twist to each side</li>
<li>Pull the knee in and gently circle to loosen up the hip</li>
<li>Lie on your side for a moment before pushing yourself up to sitting, just as if you were getting up from savasasna</li>
<li>Then do a little meditation, even if it is just 30 seconds</li>
<li>Do a few stretches sitting on the side  of the bed.</li>
<li>Finally stand up for s nice tall stretch</li>

<h2>Impact of Stress on Sleep</h2>
<p>The stress caused by too much caffeine can also have a negative impact on ability to sleep. Stress pumps up cortisol in the body, our stress hormone. Cortisol is supposed to go down at night and melatonin should go up. Too much stress leads to too much cortisol at the wrong time of day, and poor sleep quality.</p>
<h2>B Vitamin Sleep Connection</h2>
<p>I was talking to my chiropractor about my sleep issues on my last visit. He said, B vitamins are important for good sleep. Caffeine and stress tend to burn up B vitamins at a faster rate than normal.</p>
